Nan Kai University of Technology (NKUT)
Nan Kai University is a university of technology founded in 1971 as Nan Kai College. The goal is to meet the demand for technical human resources. With the above goal, NKUT was established to train students to have management and technical abilities.
I. History of Nankai University of Technology:
The site is located at No. 568, Zhongzheng Road, Caotun Town, Nantou District, about 22 km from Taichung, 30km from Changhua… Through a long process of establishment and development.
In August 1971, the College was approved to enroll day students in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering. In 1992 and 1993, the Departments of Information Management and Real Estate Management were added to the campus. At this time, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Nankai College was renamed Nankai College of Technology and Commerce in August 1993.
- In May 2001, a new campus including Administration, Engineering and Teaching was built and put into use. In August of the same year, Nankai Institute of Technology (NKIT) was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a new university.
- In August 2003, while the Departments of Computer Science and Information Engineering and Computer and Communication Engineering were being added to the campus, the Department of Real Estate Management was renamed the Department of Business Administration in the same year, with approval for the Medical Technology Research and Development Center granted by the Ministry of Education. Due to its close ties with the industry, the Center has become a leading institution for medical research technology in Central Taiwan.
- In February 2004, the new dormitory was put into use, a multifunctional building that includes an amusement park, a bookstore, and a food court.
- In August 2004, the Department of Automation Engineering, derived from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Multimedia Design, was added.
- In August 2005, the Department of Entertainment Management and the Department of Design were separated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and added to the school. In addition, the Agricultural Extension Teacher Training College was also established and began enrolling students.
- In September 2005, the school implemented the Multidimensional Project for Student Development.
- In August 2006, the Graduate School of Geotechnology and Service Management and the Department of Cultural Business Development were established.
II. Educational Objectives:
Nankai University of Technology always strives to train graduates who are practical, innovative, comprehensive and harmonious:
